Coolant Leak from passenger side,,,,,,
2000 stang GT
A couple days ago i was trying to install some UD pulleys and they ended up being wrong size harmonic balancer, but after i put everything back together ive been noticing a smell of antifreeze. Initially i checked radiator and thought hose might have been lose, hoses secure, leak not coming from thermostat , its somewhere on the passenger side sort of behind the engine and its leaking onto the exhaust giving off a great little smoke and smell. I checked inside the cab and theres some slight drips coming from under the dash all the way against the firewall. Im not familiar with behind the dash, especially when its a coolant leak. Looking for more expertise and guidance, help is much appreciated, dont want to drive her with this bad a leak!!

Sounds like heater core hoses need to be checked/replaced. They are the hoses that take coolant into the passenger compartment (through the firewall) and into the heater core that is under the glove box to heat the passenger compartment.
If it's a hose, good, if not, you will most likely have to pull the dash to replace the heater core (not a fun job).

Especially the one that runs under the intake manifold. That's the one that tends to leak all over the trans, and other things behind the engine. You can see where it attaches to the back side of the lip that's for attaching the water pump with a light.

yep im convinced its the heater core. Found this link, working on it now, slowly but surely.

^^^^+1^^^^. Most autoparts stores will rent a radiator pressure tester (call ahead of course). Bring your radiator cap so you can make sure to get any needed adapters. Hook up the pressure tester to the radiator, pump it up to the PSI listed on your radiator cap. The watch & listen. If the pressure drops more then 5 PSI in about 15 minutes then you have a leak. If you listen closely you might be able to hear the leak hisssssing. You will probably also be able to find the coolant dripping down and be able to walk back the leak to the source. Good luck...

I don't know why I didn't mention this before but another easy check to see if your heater core is leaking is to simply turn on the heat with the windows rolled up and let it sit for a few. If it is leaking you will probably smell coolant and your windows will fog up.

Finally fixed it, once i got time it took me all weekend. pain in the a$$!
The heater core did have a small leak in it. replaced the part and its just fine now. and yes i noticed the fogging windows that led me to heater core, thanks all!
