I just put an x-pipe on my car. I have factory exhaust manifolds and magnaflow catback, i raced at the dragstrip today and on the street and when i was racing black smoke was coming out of the tailpipes. I checked the oil and i'm not burning oil, someone was telling me its cause i'm running rich, is that it, or what else could it be.

Black smoke would most likely mean your car is running rich.

I'd start with a cheap tune-up, then if it doesn't go away, I would hurry and get a dyno tune.

Did you buy your car used? Sure it wasn't supercharged or anything before?

Yep running rich, excessive fuel burn. You're going to have crappy gas mileage. Ok crappIER gas mileage, lol.

I had that problem when my MAF popped off one day when I got on it with my S.C That sucked. But when the MAF popped off I lost major power to the point it wanted to die on me. Anywho, definately rich.
