whole point of 4.10's is keeping it in the "powerband" if a 3.55 geared car is racing 4.10 geared car assuming neither one spins the 4.10 will rape because it gets to the end of the gear quicker and when it goes the next gear its in a higher rpm and getting there quicker then the 3.55 thus the making the 4.10 much much quicker, i bet that if you race a one of our 2v's with for 4.10 and your wifes "altima" we will be so far ahead of you by the time your "higher gears" even think about catching up with us we will be gone, either that or the altimas doors will begin falling off at 120+

It's bogus because it's ridiculous to have to shift into 4th gear before you're even doing 80mph. I have a 928 that hits 75 in 2nd, and my little Neon is will hit 75 in 3rd. And no you do not still have the same max speed. Do you have 411's? Go out somewhere and take it as far as it willl go in 5th then get back to me, then I'll let you know how fast I can get mine up to with the 373"s. It will be faster because I've proven it several times in my 37 years of driving/racing.
Just how much experience do you have trying to get a 2v car to perform from a tree to the traps?

Not much I'd say considering you are complaining about top speed. 2v's need ALL the help they can get, which is why 4.10's is the gear of choice for everybody looking for ways to keep up with other cars on the track & on the street.
Not if you're blown, 373's are faster at the track all other things being equal.
As for keeping up with other cars on the street, how the hell can you keep up with anything on the highway if you have to shift into 5th about 100 mph?
My wifes 3.5 Altima has smoked Mustangs on the highway that had 411's.
To answer your question, I have been drag racing for 34 years.
5th at 100 with 4.10's? Where did you get that number? Shifting at 6500rpm, I can get 92 in 3rd, and calculated 130ish in 4th. Seems plenty for me. More than enough to smoke an Altima on the highway.

A Mustang with 4.10's will pull way harder than a stock geared car. It's just common sense.

If you have 410's you are not hitting 92 in 3rd.
With my 373's I hit 95 in 3rd and 125-130 at the top of 4th.

Hmmmm...I am going for the 3.73 gear. Why? To save conserve and save gas. Ain't NO Altima gonna eat my car unless I EF up again. Even if I had 2.49 gears like some stupid website said I had http://media.ford.com/products/press...section_id=405(hit cancel when your print screen window appears)

Why is everyone here worked up on traction? Why not use your traction contol button that all the 99-04 (Or at least mine does) Mustangs have ; ) . Or is it useless, with that much power? I know it's for snowy weather and slippery roads, but why not for racing?

Just a newbie asking questions :-)

Also what are upd's?

He told me to kiss his ***. So I PM'd him about a date and location.

All of the sudden he blew up. I don't know. His 34-37 years of drag racing must have finially gotten to him.
