yeah... thats what I'm thinking too... It's almost impossible that the car is slower. NMRA world finals is soon at bowling green KY, thats in my area so I plan to buy some stuff soon. I plan on getting some control arms, subframe connectors, and an SCT tuner. Maybe then I can heat them ****s up and leave the line at 5000 or so! that is.. if nothing breaks. I'd like to see a sub 13.5 time slip.. preferably white in color haha... dam yellow looser slips[:@]

If your spinning hard in 2nd gear, that is probably your problem.

I know that with my old radials, my car was acutally slower on the street with the 3.73s, cause it would spin so bad on a hard 2nd gear shift.

Go out again, and one of your runs try shifting into 2nd a little easier to not spin in 2nd so hard.

If you don't break them loose off the line, your car should not be spinning at the top of 1st, even with 4.10s, unless the track is real ****ty. Hell, sometimes my car will not spin at the top of 1st if I get a good launch and the tires/street are real sticky.

+1.

well wider tires and wheels have a lot of rolling mass/resistance, that coulsd be killing your times put some stock rims or a set of spair doughnuts on and then you will see your times drop by at least .5 and your mph way up
doughnuts on and then you will see your times drop by at least .5 and your mph way up

Don't listen to this crap. .5? By dropping 25lb spare tire, and saving maybe another 25 with the tires. Also if you havent noticed with those tires he cut almost a .2 better 60'. Doing what you suggested i bet he would lose .2-.3
ok .5 my be a small strech but if you are a good driver it can happen (i did it with my 73 duster), frountrunners/centerlines, the average 17x9in wheel and tire weights 60-65lbs with a 255 my centerlines are about 20lbs with a 3.5 rim and tire, the less weight in the front of the car will give tyou better weight transfer = better launch= faster times, as well with the rolling resistance of the tire to the ground is 50% less then the 255s and the weight mass of the wheel to get it rolling takes much more power, i saw a episode of two guys garage where they did a wheel and tire swap and dyno the car and found that they lost 8hp 16-17in setup,

I guess you didnt bother to look at his 60' or MPH, because it tells the exact opposite of what you're saying.

The larger 315 tires are not slowing him down by any appreciable amount. The added traction is more than enough to make up for any difference in weight in the 1/4 mile.

I am sure that adding a lightwieght set of wheels and bigger rubber will pick up more time, but the regular wheeil weight/bigger tire is still an advantage.

In a stock or bolton GT the launch is everything. There is not enough power there to make up for a crappy launch, so you need to have it dialed in.

I had the same problem. Your not use to the tires, I used the same one's. You REALLY have to heat them up. You MPH will be lower from what i saw. The 4.10's are different to drive on as well, you have to get used them. But trust me when i say the gears DEFF. helped you out. I went from a high 14' to a mid/low 14 after getting used to the gears.

Drop the pressure on those nitto's and warm them up. I cut a 1.9 60 foot with just a 3:73 gear, tb/plenum, cai and a catback with nitto drag radials, they hook on lightly modified gt's. You should not spin anywhere but the launch with the drag radials. Drop the pressure to like 20 and warm em up next time, you should see better results.
