I am interested in this thread to. I am torn between an LS1 car with lid/cutout and a late model GT with LT's, O/R X-pipe, cat-back, CAI, and a tune (mods I would do if I bought the GT). Would those mods hang with an LS1 (run high 12's)?
you'd nead 4:10 gears as well to be in the neighborhood. or if not gears you'd have to dip into the engine which justs costs too much for what you get. to make sure of it add a throttlebody&plenum and underdrives to your list. basically, lots of money is a relplacement for displacement.

well good driver mod on a auto???? i think not
ORIGINAL: Zoie_daGT

ORIGINAL: yoteehunter

T-body
plenum
long tube headers
off road x or h
cold air kit
pulleys
4.10-4.30 gears
mild cams
slicks
control arms
drag shocks or adjustables
a good dyno tune
I would say yes to all of that and
- intake
- nitrous
- shift kit since you are an auto.

Def. need the good driver mod as well.

To hit 12.99's, I really think you only need FULL bolt-ons. Longtubes are a must, an o/r mid pipe, a catback, udp, cai, tb/plenum, a good tune and 4:10 gears would do it. With some sub frames, u/l control arms, a built rear end and slicks, high 12's are defanitely feasible.
