HELP!! 01 GT Won't keep running
Well, like the subject says my 01 GT won't stay running.
She will start fine, and with some gas it will stay running.
The problem is if my foot isn't on the gas it won't idle by itself.
If I let my foot off the gas it will immediately drop below 500 rpm then die shortly after.
I drove the car yesterday about 200 mile to Deleware and back to Maryland the thing is I was suposed to go to North Carolina today...
She has less than 40000 on the clock and ran perfectly until this afternoon when I went to start her.
I was thinking about like the Throttle position sensor or something like that... but I'm not sure...
The guages are working and are showing the rpm's and I can rev her fine...
What's wrong with my stang???
Any help is greatly appreciated... Thanks in advance...
Rob
P.S.
Obviously I have the mods below and no dyno-tune. I doubt that will matter though since she's been running fine.

RE: HELP!! 01 GT Won't keep running
Check your Idle Air Control valve. Try unbolting it and cleaning with some brake cleaner. They are fairly inexpensive to replace as well.
If you've never changed your fuel filter, that can't hurt either.

I just had the same crap on my '00 GT Stage 1, and I ended up replacing the Idle Air control motor and the sensor, runs good as new!

RE: HELP!! 01 GT Won't keep running
Well, I had unpluged the TPS sensor and pluged it back in a few times and looked it all looked ok... but nothing.
I adjusted the idle screw temporarially and that seems to work.
I'll clean out or buy a new IAC tomorrow if that's what it looks like.
I'll let you guys know.
BTW Thanks for the quick responses 40 min 4 responces I know who I can count on...
I'll post tomorrow. Thanks again
Rob

Thanks Bud! Yeah, that damn sensor was a pain in my a$$ for about 3 days, then after asking around on here and picking up the manual on the car, they go step by step on how to check if it's working and sure enough, a $30 sensor was causing the problem.
Good luck!

RE: HELP!! 01 GT Won't keep running
I agree with daniel, I had some problems too. I took off the mass air and it was fine. Once I got my predator I put it back on and it was fine. Then my battery died. Might be a sign of a dying battery. Borrow a friends for a sec and post what happens. We are here to back You up.

do you know what your A/F ratios are????? with all that done to your car, you might be running rich and fouled out some plugs or your fuel injecters need cleaned... i had all of these things happen to me when i didn't have a tune... then again, 9 times out of 10, its the IAC..
