Default Rear Springs

I know I wrote a big thread about suspension that became a sticky but now I have a question.

I have front coilovers and sportline springs in the rear. I know that the sportlines are hurting my launches. My wife wants her new 01 vert lowered. so I'm going to put my sportlines on hers and take her rear stock springs for my car. I still want the lowered look so my question is, can I cut the stock springs and still be ok with ride, safety and launching? If not where can I get good drag springs for just the rear?

You can cut off the dead-coil, which may lower it a half inch to an inch....

Shouldn't be too bad, but still really soft for launching..
