i was just wondering if pulleys are bad for your car, i was told that by a few people??
not at all they actually help reduce the drag on your engine by slowing down the accessories.

In theory they should make the engine last longer.
But your cooling system slows down and your charging system slows down... theory an reality dont always match...

Oh, ok. Ask anyone here about the BBK`s. They`ll say the same thing... THEY SUCK...
well everone here so far hasn't said anything bad about BBK like you said. yeah they are piggyback but they aren't gonna kill your motor or like i said BBK wouldn't sell those. i have had no problems with them over 6 months now, no charging or heating problems. so i kind of think you are wrong.

UDPs for over a year in 100*+ heat and no cooling issues. Then again, I have the 281, not a 302.

Oh, and I had piggy back pulleys, but those caused vibration in the crank and the ECM threw codes and multiple misfires. They lasted 3 months before I replaced them with Steeda.

I think you made a good point... the more you mod a car, or move farther out from stock, the more problems youre gonna have... oh, an the older the car with lots of miles regarding cooling...

I run underdrive pulleys on my 302...mainly because the accessories can't handle the rpm the engine is capable. To me, that's pretty much teh only reason to get pulleys...save your accessories from a modified engine.
And I don't have any cooling/charging problems.

Ive heard stories of the pulleys slowing down your cooling system and not flowing enough air and ppl dying of carbon monoxide poisoning in their cars. Its proven. It hasnt happen to me yet but i got 150 rwhp when i did my pulleys.

Come on guys. Im jm. Idk pullies dont really do anything. Most ppl get them so they can have one more thing on their car. Or to get chrome or red or blue on their engine.

I have pulleys and I'll let you know that you CAN'T feel a differance and I get crappy a/c charge and battery charge at stops light and long periods of idle. I'll be sitting at a light and my headlights will go dim. The same thing happens with the a/c. The air will stop blowing as hard, once I've idled for so long. If you're going to spring for a mod that isn't that expense, I would go with CAI, Midpipe, Short Throw, or save a little more and by a tuner....
