Buy new lights if you can...if you just absolutely can't, you can wetsand your lights and make a huge improvement. That WILL remove the clearcoat (If any is left anyway), so if you can paint it'd be worthwhile to spray a new coat of clear on the light. I wetsanded one of my old headlights that looked like yours before, and it cleared it right up. I wetsanded it, then buffed the hell out of it and put about 5 coats of wax. It turned out not quite like new, but close.

you could always wet sand it with 800 then 1000 then 1500 then 3000 grit paper. i did this on my old contour and it worked like a charm (i had to replace the assembly on one side and the other side was all foged up), but if you dont have the time or dont want to bother just get a nice pair of new ones, like the smoked ones in that other post.

Me and my freind have spent countless hours trying to remove the haze from his 99 Prelude (headlights for preludes are over $300 for each headlight), We did everything we could think from buffing to scrubbing... nothing worked, be glad headlights are only 100 a peice for our cars.

Dude don't pay $200 for new headlights. Go to a junk yard and see if they have any 02-04 GT headlights. Those year headlights have a darker housing than the 99-01 and look better. Try looking up LKQ corp those junk yards are pretty good.

Dustin, I was just browsing the boards and saw what happened to your lights when you tried to clean them. You mentioned our name (AmericanMuscle.com) in the thread and I pulled your customer file. You have been a great customer of ours over the past year and have placed several orders. We want to thank you for that! We are going to go ahead and send you out a set of 99-04 Smoked Headlights free of charge.
You will get a confirmation email and a tracking number later today. Again thanks for all your business.
