Default Small Coolant Leak

well I went to seafoam today (a bi-monthly thing) and saw coolant on my resevoir tank by my cap. looked close and noticed it seemed to come down from the cap, and drip its way down. had a lil sludge from the coolant where the halfs of the resevoir tank meet (black meats clear)

decided to wipe it all down, clean the cap, and then ima make sure its coming from the cap i guess, before i replace it. I just hope its not exhaust gases building up in my tank, causing excessive pressure...i dont wanna replace my head gaskets =(

ima pray that its just the silly 7$ cap thats troublesome, not the new 200+$ resevoir tank i bought awhile back, nor a head gasket.

You MIGHT have it overfilled, and when everything gets pressurized it has no were to go except out the cap.

i wish it was that simple. its to the line exactly, when the engine is completely cold. im sure its not a headgasket, i remember my jeep cherokee having a blown gasket, the coolant would bubble vigorously inside the overflow tank, lol. as long as its not the stupid 200$ overflow tank that i replaced a few months ago. i broke the nipple for the return off my previous one =(

so i know its coming from between the black and clear part, where the seam is, and also seems to seap through the black thermal plastic part? on two locations i notice it damp, everytime i drive around and its 70+ degrees.

If you have overfilled the resivor. you will definally know about it.

The car will not run properly, if you go to floor it and she boggs, too much coolant. just drain some out sheill be fine.
