Default Help on offset - 01 GT -20 inch rims

I'm looking at some 20 inch rims for an 01 GT hardtop. They are 20x8.5 with a positive 15mm offset. I read a little about offsets, but am not quite sure what I gathered. I want a rim that will be pretty much flush with the fenderwells. Is the lower the number, the farther out they sit, when it's a positive offset? Here's the rims I'm thinking about getting. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT

It's for my girlfriend. She's pretty much stuck on 20's.

Yuck. 20's= [:'(]

Show her the price for tires that will fit those and she might change her mind.

I know you're asking for help on sizing, but PLEEEEEEEEEEAAAAASE listen to use....20s on stangs just look awful! If anything do an 18/19 combo! That's about as big as you can go and still do a decent drop to set it off. 20s mean no drop can be done and still have clearance = looks like a 4x4.

Seriously, I've gone over this with her and she has her mind set. I have a hook up on tires. I can get Nitto 555's 255/35/20's for $140 each. One of my friends just sold his mustang with 20's and had a 2 inch drop and it was fine. Believe me, she just wants 20's to have 20's and won't get anything else. I really just want to know if they'll work right. I know you all are trying to help and persuade me out of it, but it's not my car.

Good luck with them. I have seen a notch with 20s that looked awesome! it had all kinds of custom wheel well work done. Maybe she can make it work.

To be honest 20" tires are cheaper than 18" tires anyway lol.

Dude big a$$ GANSTA rims on a STANG look soooooo bad. If anything, do 18's all round. Or my favorite 17/18DD's.

Depending on the rim style, it can either look good or bad.. I've seen both on mustangs around here.
