+1 on the new carpet. Check out 50resto.com. Why isn't insurance taking care of this little problem?

would have to agree on the carpet. Don't know what old water smells like, but on my old car I spent six years trying to pull the prev owners spilt cofee (read "smell") out of the car. I smoked in that car and after a hot Arizona day I could still smell it. I had my very own starbucks air freshener.

I have the same fear here in norfolk... luckily my parking lot this year isn't by water... so it only gets 2-3 inches high at most... where as my dorm lot would've been a swimming pool if I stayed there this year!!!

just out of curiousity, where would the water have gotten in? The interior I understand, but since the water didn't go over the top of the intake wouldn't the engine be safe?
