Read my edited first reply. I believe all the engines are probably the same but I checked the 02 as well as the 04 and both are 6 qt. However, like I said, most engines don't drain every drop of oil. There is usually a good quart or more that is in the passageways that wont drain out.
The way that I normally do it that I learned from my dad is to drain the oil, then dump it from whatever I caught it in, into smaller measurable containers for storage until I can dispose of it. Milk cartons work perfect for this. Then you can see exactly how much you drained and know exactly how much to add back in. Also, if you know exactly how much you have you can get an idea of if it's burning oil by keeping track of how much you have in the car at any given time.

I use 6 qt's & it's 1/2 way between min. & max. it say's 6 qt's in all the manual's I have . also had a 98 cobra that was 6 qt's also .
