I forgot to mention this in my post... I probably wouldn't mod the older car much other than the exhaust. Reason being is that I will an 04 Cobra and that will be my big play toy. I'm not interested in the 4 banger cars but I just wanna have an older stang that I can use for long trips, bad weather, etc and not get the Cobra out in that... just wanna try and take good care of it. Is there much gas difference between the 5.0 and the 4.6?

As far as for exhaust, I would just get something that is pretty cheap cuz I'm going all out on the Cobra. Something like an O/R H with a Flowmaster, MAC... something with a nice muscle sound.
Thats why I'm lookin for an older model cuz I'm not planning to mod it other than exhaust unless its something I already like. I'm hopeing to spend less than $5,000. Maybe even $4k if its still in good shape... I'm not really looking for anything exceptional so miles are no big deal as long as it runs w/o hardly any problems at all.

Get a 5.0. The 5.0 while having a larger displacement is dimentionally smaller. Easier to work on, easier to find parts for, all of that bs. Get a 5.0.

If you already are getting an 04 cobra then get a little civic or some ricer to save gas. No need to get two gas guzzlers. Then you have more money to spend on the cobra

Why do you need another mustang as a daily driver? Why not get a truck or something that's actually useful?? It just makes more sense.

I don't NEED a mustang as a daily driver. I HAVE a 00 Ranger that is partly mine, and partly my dads. To be honest, I've not needed the truck for any purpose that a mustang could do. At best, my truck will get 29.5 mpg on the interstate at cruising speeds. Mind you that is a 4 cylinder motor. My 04 GT, which was a V8, would get a lil over 26 mpg on the interstate so I'm not really losing much as far as gas mileage.

Yeah but if you got a civic it would get you 30 to 40 mpg

Id go for secret option D. Get a 96-98 Cobra. Reliable, pretty fast, not too horrible gas milage, and i believe its a 4v. Just in case you want to mod it later...

Understandable, I myself would get something pretty good on gas mileage for daily use. If I bought another stang as a dd, I would put too many mods in it. I'd rather focus all of the mods into one stang.

Well... thats a possibility, but with the Cobra... I will be putting my 'go fast' mods into it. Unlike some, I can control myself when it comes to mods lol. Any 94-98 GT or Cobra would be fine once I find a good enough deal. I'm in no hurry so I can look around. The reason I'm not going for the 99-04's is that I don't wanna pay that much for one right now.
