I was quoted $550 for a long tube intall on a 98 by a speed/performance shop.

The cam is easier to do out of the car.

If you even thought about having someone else installing them, there's no way you have the capabilities to do the job! Timing the cams will take atleat 2 hours and you need very specific expensive tools to do so! As far as the bolting and unbolting, that anyone can do. I know quite a bit about car and the overhead cam designs are a pain to time because theres so much procedure involved! Good Luck though!

ummm, i hope thats the PRICE of the headers and cams included! Are perf. shops really rippin people off that bad???? jeez, i guess it really does pay to do your own work huh?
Parts included in the $1050 quote. Are you really a retard or do you actually believe stuff is free? Long tube headers cost atleast $400. Cams for a SOHC motor cost $550, then the valve springs $150. This is all just for parts, labor generally runs about the same as you would pay for parts, especially on engine parts! You need to learn a little before you own a mustang or any type of sports car! The work is quite extensive and time consuming. Add up 70/hr for a 14 or 15 hour job and see where you end up! Just go back to your scooter so the fixes will be pennies!

they quoted me 650 for the cam install and 400 for the header install
That's right on target in this area which is Delaware/Pa. The cam install is a big job especially with the motor in the car.
Well i would say it doesnt matter wether or not the motor is in the car with these OHC, but i've never seen a cam swap on and OHC, just pushrod engines

Now you've struck my curiosity? I've only dealt with aftermarket items. I will be getting some stock PI heads real soon, so I'll let you know if they have marks on them! Wow something I didn't know!..lol
