Can anyone suggest a good chip for my 98 Cobra and where to get it? Thanks in advance!

Personally I would wait till you get all the mods done to your car and let someone Dyno tune it for you and let them custon burn you a chip. Thats the best way to go about doing it. Dont just buy one because you might just hurt your car instead of helping it.

A member here has a superchip, recently dyno'd and wasn't happy with his numbers. He disabled the chip and gained HP. My advice:

Dyno tuned chip or stay stock.

Default RE: Chips

Chips can sometimes be a good idea even if you don't get a dyno tune, since they can bump your timing (save money from not needing a timing adjustor), correct for gear or tire size changes (saves money from a speedcal), and can also do things only a chip can do - like raise your rev limiter, turn your fan on earlier, and lean your fuel out (the factory tries to keep a stoich a/f ration of 14:1 - 14.7:1, the ideal a/f ratio is 12/13:1 depending on your application. So, you could actually get a chip for about the same price of a timing adjuster and speedcal, then get some other benefits only a chip can provide.

But, like Dan said, alot of the time its best to wait till you have your mods finished so you can have everything dyno tuned for best drivability and a few more ponies.

I have a ???

I'm about to, despite being raped on price, get some 4.10's installed when my car is fixed. My car is a '98, so is all I need to correct for the gear change a speedo gear? Like the little plastic piece?

Also, I have an auto, so will it mess up anything w/ shift points or rpms or anything I need to worry about?

Basically, do I need a chip if I do gears?

P.S. Screw diablo!!! They don;t make the predator for my car! I wanted that!
