My car has a BBK X-pipe....it sounds better in person, but you can obviously hear it very well in this video...

And no, I didn't fart in the video. That was a ricer that came the other way through the intersection.

because bbk longtubes have a bend in im thinkin the drivers side header which restricts the hell out of airflow, i helped a friend of mine put em on and with those headers he didnt notice harldy any gains, i have bbk shorties and they work good......not to down bbk or nothin, there a very reputable company

Yes the bend does restrict airflow, but the gains of a long tube versus a shorty are tremendous. There have been many articles and testings done at performance shop on shorties and longtubes. Shorties only produced a maximum of 4hp on a modified car with full exhaust and no cats. That was tested just after the stock manifolds were tested to compare the two. The only gains are where the heat can escape the cylinders because the thinner metal material versus the thick cast! Shorties are a complete waste of money. The long tubes however posted a huge gain. The gain was 12-15hp over the shorty headers, so that's a total of around 16-19hp. This was on the BBK by the way. I read it awhile back from some motorsports performance shop out of S. Cali which had compared their finding with two other shops all sponsored by BBK! Most people think that the shorties give them big gains because they usually change the midpipe at the same time. I changed just my midpipe to an O/R X-pipe and holy crap what a diff. especially in the 4-5k rpm range. This was with my stock manifols on!

and i agree with you on the gains from longtubes, partly because we only have two valves 16-19 ponies is a bit much dont u think, on a 4v i wouldnt argue that point but it just seems a bit much, and on that subject i never said that longtubes were better or worse i simply stated that in my own experience, that bbk longtubes were a waste of money because of that bend
