Default Tremec 3650 trouble?

I hear a lot of crap about these 01-04 GT transmissions. Are they really that bad? What are the syncros/blocker rings/syncro linings made of? paper or carbon fiber?

Actually I think their made of cottage cheese----- If you have one thats still under warranty Ford will rebuild it under TSB 04-15-6----- It seems that the liners inside the synchro rings are coming apart causing gear clash/synchro misalignment on 2nd, 3rd and 4th and the forks are junk, the new ones are MUCH larger and stronger, good luck.

From what I hear ford just cant put a good tranny in these damn things. They figured out the rear end, screwed up on the differential. Figured out the style, messed up on the engine/tranny. Gm has it the other way around. Dammit, just buy an M3 or something.

Seriously though, the 01 was 1/2 and 1/2 some got the TR3650, some the T-45.

The tremec is no picnic but I haven't had too many performance cars where the tranny did not have some sort of weakness.
That is what aftermarket is for. These trannys are made for daily driving under normal conditions.

Hardly what most of them get.

If you want a mustang no matter the year just buy it and move on.

If you are looking for a vehicle that never breaks go down to the army base and see if they got any surplus tanks for sale.

My TKO500 has never had an issue, nor have many of the T56's in the F-bods.

I have one of the new rebuilt transmissions. Stick with what you have. For what you have to go through, and the time the car is down, there really is not a difference. Still feels the same, shifts the same, and sounds the same.
