I went to the track last nite with my m/t et street radials and i couldnt get traction at all. I was pullin 2.398 foot and a 2.4 sumtin. I heated them up good and statred the pressure out at 25 and droped it to 18 and none of that worked. MY friend with an 02 gt on street tires was pulling better 60 ft than me. I did a burnout in the water box and heated them upp. I tried launching at a bunch of different rpms(auto) and i tried just florring it off the line. The track was not preped at all but still thats terrible.

I don't think the goal in the burnout box is to heat your tires. You do the burnout to clean the tires off. Hot tires are not good for traction, but clean ones are. Maybe you should limit the time in the box. As soon as you see a nice puff of smoke, get outta the box.

I disagree, with drag radials you want to heat them up. They hook better when they are warmer. With street tires you dont want to heat them up, just clean them. Nick maybe you are not in the box long enough? Are you sprayin out of the hole too? I would try keeper the pressure at around 18 in the back, and i would also add more pressure to the front tires.

well i have nitto d/r so a little different. But the first time i went to the track i had the psi for them at about 25 and the best 60ft i could get was 2.0. Then i went to the track again and lowed it to about 16psi and really heated them up and i pulled a 1.9 60ft right away on my first run. Try lowering the psi a little lower and do a second gear burnout.

Yes, warm is good. Hot is bad.
Also, are you doing the burnout in the water? If so, you need to just get the wheels damp, then do the burnout in the dry area.

sounds like you need some rear suspension work , you can just throw a stick tire on and expect 1.6* 60' times. I think you should only expect to see at best leaving easy a 1.9 60' practice ,practice, practice it will take a while but you'll get it.

Chris i was not spraying out of the hole, i wanst using nitrous at all my bottle was empty. But i would do the burnout in the water. But last time i went i pulled a 2.09 60 ft, but the burnout box had very little water and this time it had alot of water.

that is kiiling you, its a water box roll thru and do a burnout after the box and you;ll see more consistant 60's
