Default replacing cam gears question

Hey,

I will be putting pi cams into ported npi heads, can the cam gears be put on with the cams in the heads? Also will the npi gears fit the pi cams or will I need pi gears as well?

Thanks

Default RE: replacing cam gears question

I must have phrased it incorrectly. Once the cams are in the heads can the old gears be pressed on, or is it easier to press them on with the cams out. I will have one set of heads built,( cams, springs), then swap out the old heads, but if it's a pita to do with cams in heads I will rethink.

I think this is all moot if they bolt on.

Default RE: replacing cam gears question

If the P.I cams are romeo you'll need press on gears, if they are windsor you'll be able to use your npi. Also the P.I cam bolt may be a 12mm compared to the earlier 10mm so you may want to have the bolts in hand for the swap. Hope thatswhat you were looking for !!
