What's a 100th Anniversary edition? Advice needed.
 

I saw a 2003 GT Convert. 100th anniversary edition for sale at a dealership and was wondering what this thing is and
how well does it compare to the 2005+ V6?

The car is very clean, has 17k miles on it and is loaded with every option.
Also has new rubber on it (this worries me a little, burnouts on the old rubber maybe?)

So anyway, the dealer wants $19,800 for it.
It was a one owner car according to carfax and not a lease/rental etc.

I am going to test drive it tomorrow (Thurs) and would like to know what to look for as far as typical problems, wear and tear, potential removed mods, etc.

Is the price decent?

Uh there is no 100th anniversary edition. The 2004 is the 40th anniversary edition. I'd say double check what you saw and ask them about it. They're full of sh*it if they're calling it anything but a 39th anniversary edition, lol. Hell the mustang is only in it's 42nd production year now.

The 04 is the 40th anniversary but 100th anniversary 03? smells fishy to me..... price sounds real high. I'd look around for a better deal.

well my 04 gt is a 40th anniversary... so i dont know how we skipped the other 59 anniversaries in one year.

Dude my friends has a 100th anne edition. Its real he has all the badges and everything.

"Ford celebrated its 100th Anniversary in June of 2003, and made limited edition vehicles to commemorate the event. The 100th Anniversary models only came in black, and included Premium Verona-grain Imola leather seating surfaces in two-tone parchment. The Mustang got the GT premium package which included 17" wheels, anti-lock brakes and traction control; dual exhaust; power driver's seat with power lumbar support; leather-wrapped steering wheel; and Mach 460 AM/FM Stereo with six-disc CD changer, as well as 100th Anniversary badges on the fender and decklid and embossed on the seats. 100th?! WTF. Is that what the dealer advertised it as? Cuz theres no such thing...Stang has been around since 64. You must mean 40th Anniversery. Wait a minute, that doesnt make sense either. The 2004's were 40th anniv... OK, well a 03 GT is faster than on 05+ V6. by 50 hp. You need to compare the 05+GT to the 03 GT, the V6 is in a diff league. The price seems about right. Id ask about the 100th anniv thing though, unless im missing something then that seems weird...

hm after ben's post i guess that might mean 100th anniversay for ford motor company, not just the mustang itself.. makes sense but i dont have a clue when ford actually began making vehicles.

its not actualy called the 100th aniversay its called the centenial edition... it was for fords 100th aniversary... im pretty sure they only came in black and maybe only in vert and it was basicaly a regualr GT with different badges and prob some interior stuff.
