Default First Mod - Gears!

Two weeks to the day i've owned my 02 mustang GT. Today i bought my first mod for it and i decided to go with gears, thanks to the many opinions of you guys. Since i do so much interstate driving I ended up with 3.73's.

I have a question, how do i get my speedometer adjested, or will it even need adjusted? If it needs adjusted, wont this also mess the odometer up since its digital?

thanks!

You will ahve to buy a speedocal or a good tuner that allows you to do it.

What rpms Do the 3.73s make your engine sit at,

Also, How can you adjust it with that speed adjuster you mentioned.

The 3.73 gears will make you about 200 rpm higher over stock.

Here is one place to read about a speed cal.

http://www.dallasmustang.com/index.m...707&s=speedcal

The tuners like hypertech or diablo can adjust the speedometer electronically.

I have never done a speed cal before and after looking at the install directions I would just go all out and get the tuner! LOL. Im not the type of person that likes to do a lot to my car, I just assume leave it up to people that will HAVE to fix it if it is messed up!

yeah, but if you mess it up to begin with you have to take it to someone to have that and everything else you broke to get it all fixed all over again!

Um... 99+ gt's use cpu cal opposed to changing the gear in the speedo. I would assume its perty easy. I just ordered a speed cal and Ill let ya know how it goes. But From what I was told you just plug it in and it asks what ratio... you select your ratio and boom its done. We'll see.
