Cigarette Ligher/Power Point have no power
Alright, I don't have access to my manuals here at work, but I wondered if anyone knew what/where to look at if my cigarette lighter and power point (in front of the shifter) are both dead. Nothing else is out that I know of other than them. I'm assuming it's a fuse, does anyone know what fuse that would run through? I just got my new radar detector and at the moment it's nothing but a pretty windshield ornament.

Yep, I actually just remote connected into my home computer to look it up. It's in the engine fuse box, 30 amp for CIG/AUX. I'll take a look when I go down for lunch.
Thanks for the reply.

Mine blows out in my 97 all the time. If you are standing infront of your car, it will be in the row closest to you. If you are on the drivers side fender it will b eon your left and one fuse in from the fender side. Mine is a 20 amp. I guess that is why it keeps blowing. I'll have to try a 30 amp.

Ugh, so I took it home at lunch and pulled the fuse to take a look and it looks just fine. I didn't have any extra fuses at the moment to swap it with and it was getting hot so I just gave up for now.
I'm really hoping that the previous owner didn't mess with anything when they were putting in their CD changer or anything. Does anyone know if any CD changers tell you to use that line for power? The changer is in the back but the control unit is up front and then has a little LCD and FM transmitter. Assuming my gaskets get here tonight I'm already going to be pulling the center console apart to put my Tri-Ax in, so I guess I'll have a look around while I'm there.
Anyone have any other ideas?

Since you're putting in a tri-ax, you may just find that the wires were disconnected. One day I was trying to charge my phone and then realized I forgot to re-connect the wires.
If that isn't the case, then you may have to take it in to get it looked at.
