So I went to the track last night and got smoked by a new GTO. He said it was completely stock and ran a very low 12. Are they actually running that quick, or was he just lieing to me? Getting back on track here...No, it wasn't stock. But it probably wasn't far from it. A few bolt ons are good for a low 12. But the trap speed...It probably had a cam. If it had a blower it would have trapped a lot more than that.

The thing is though, it was so quiet. Didn't dound like it had en exhaust or anything like that. All the other cars I was racing I could hear the turbo/sc, cams, and exhaust. This one just seemed really wierd.

My parents (who think they are 30) were looking at one when I got my stang. Made the same comment, got a mustang instead. Said they would rather have less power with good looks than drive a "boring looking" car.

Love the analogy

If you didn't hear the exhaust it isn't stock. Stock has a nice sounding exhaust. One that they spent a FORTUNE in design to have it sound like the originals. (there are several write ups on the design of the exhaust system)
