I think you should make sure you have no exhaust leaks. When you downshift and its high in rpms and you ride it down does it pop pop pop a lot?

ok then count that one out. Idk man maybe its the gas ur running. With as much stuff as you have done to ur car id take it to a tech and have it checked out asap

what octane are you running? Someone mentioned timing, it's starting to sound like that to me. Wrong octane fuel with the timing being moded would cause backfiring especially at WOT or heavy acceleration.
