I am hoping to get a '99 GT soon enough but first I want to know what would be the best mod to start with? Gears? Exhaust?

Depends if he likes to drive on the freeway though. If 4:10's, I would get a six speed on down the road.

guido, i'm gonna help a fellow italian here and say get a steeda tri-ax short throw shifter. Best mod i've done so far in my opinion. thats if you get the stick of course. All the power in the world is no good if you can't get the full potential of the car by shifting correctly. Plus it'll extend the life of your tranny by saving missed shifts. good luck on your purchase!
