2004 S281 Saleen mustang info
I am needing so information on the 2v 4.6L engine in a buddy's 2004 Saleen. It is a supercharged S281. It only has 10,000 miles on it, and he has blown up his second engine. From what I have seen and heard, the bottom ends on these are weak. True???? Anyway I need some information on internal engine specs etc. He wants to check rod, main bearing clearances, etc. Trying to find out what the deal is with this thing. Can any one help with internal specs????????????? Anyone know have, or know where I can look on the internet to find them? What is different about the internals, as opposed to a factory built 2v 4.6. Saleen does build the thing from bare block right? Any information would be great. Thanks.

At the heart of the S281-E is a unique Saleen-manufactured 4.6-liter powerplant built in-house. The 281 cubic-inch V8 uses a special forged steel Saleen crankshaft, Saleen forged-steel connecting rods, Saleen-patented forged aluminum pistons and unique Saleen aluminum cylinder heads featuring special valve springs and the latest Saleen performance camshafts.
