RPM, best to shift

I shift at 6000 in first and 5800 through 2 to 3 and then I trap just as I enter forth.

Stock GT motors don't make any power up high in the RPM band there is no need to go so deep in the red. 4V on the other hand like high rpms, that's why the rev so much higher cause that's where they make ther power.

wait...how the hell can you even rev it past redline...does it have a fuel cut out or did ford just say **** it??

My redline is 8000 rpm and fuel cut is 8200 and i've hit it...helps to pay attention. Anyway, my friend had an 01 GT and would shift at 3k when just cruising, and would carry it to redline when pulling hard.

There is no fuel shut off but there is an electronic rev limiter controlled through the ECU. I dont know what it kicks in at on a 4V but on the 2V it comes on at like 6050 to 6150. I have hit it once or twice when I first got my car and didnt realize that I didnt have to rev it past three thousand to get a good burn out.
