Well i got the the new set off nittos on. I was practicing some launches against some friends last night.. I noticed one of my runs i screeched onto my third gear shift. i perfectly pressed the clutch, it was like i shifted to fast for the tranny but then instantly it was in third.. i have a mgw- no shift stops. is this why?

or is it because i need a better clutch.

it seems like this is the only gear that does this..
ive had it scrape second gear, like because the power of the car seemed to much to shift or something.. but that was another time when i had launched harder.

When you say scrap, do you mean grind the gear or chirp the tires? Grinding gears is bad, chirping tires is not so bad.

i dont mean chirp the tires. i mean ill hear the actually tranny scrape really lightly as its going into third, this is only when i am shifting quickly.

i feel like its because the tranny needs a little delay before i switch.. its just got to be the 5speed tremec 3650.

im doin the tsb soon so if things dont change, than im going to be dissapointed =/

also.. should i install the shift stops? it says no?? and most say no..

its probally your 3rd gear syncro

the 3rd gear synchro in the 3650 is weak, so itll do that, and itll eventually go and need to be rebuilt

should i swap my mgw to stock before i go in for the tsb?

would a custom flywheel and clutch prevent this from being on my warranty?

Let me know how the TSB goes. I tried to get Ford to do it while I was still under factory warranty, and they took it for a test drive and decided it was "user error" causing the gear grind, and not the syncro's. I know how they test these cars... they granny shift the bloody things... anyway, let me know what you did to get the tsb put into effect :P

It has happend to me twice! this time 3rd took 4th with him when he died. My dealer is cool and easy to deal with so they are fixing it again, even though i am over 36k. too bad they keep the car for a week every time they get it. Its still there now!
