I'm getting 275/40/17's put on the rear soon. I was wondering if I should put them on the front too. Would it be better to have more rubber on the front also? Or does it matter. How would it affect handling if I had bigger rubber on the front?

Also, I might want different wheels in the future. I guess I'll stick with 17" still, but what width wheel will I need for 275's. I hope they fit on my stock wheels. Also what size are stock wheels on the GT?

i've got 275 all the way around i love the looks but my car tends to follow the ruts in the road, but you get used to it. don't know the stock wheel size as soon as i got my car or any car for that matter the stock wheels have to go. stock wheel size 17x8

If you want to make your car for road racing put the same size tires all around. The gt's handle best with the same witch all the way around. For drag racing put smaller tires up front. Its the old wheelbarrell saying. Its easier to push a wheelbarrell with a small hard inflatted tire than it is to push one with a big flat one.

stock rims are 17x8.. you can fit 275's just fine on them.

Okay thanks, I just want better traction basically. I wanna be able to launch and also grip the road for road racing and for the track whenever I go (b/c I'm safe. ) But its my DD, so I want good handling too. In that situation, for all around grip, plus minimal but occasional track usage, should I go 4 all the way around?

Oh, and I'm not interested in drag radials.

That or do 275s out back and 265's up front. Itll probably be a little cheaper that way and will look a little staggered which IMO looks better

If I put 265's what would the middle number have to be to keep my speedo right and all that. I know going from 245/45/17 to 275/40/17 is how to do that, but what would it be....265/??/17
