A stock Evo VIII runs a 0-60 in about 5 seconds and a 1/4 mile in 13.5 seconds. MY guess is you don't stand a chance although you might be able to stick with him you will lose.

You cant count engine size, its all about application, 4 cylinder, V6, V8 it doesnt matter. Yea the 2.0L Lancer is fast, but its turboed. If you put a Evo against a turboed GT, the Evo would get raped.

thanks guys, learned alot. i know, if you asked me a few years back about anything from japan i would laugh at you, but lately ive been starting to show more respect. the new 350 zs are putting out 300 hp stock and the evos are even meaner. i got beat just last night by a new 350 z but the guy also had about 10 gs into the car. i new it wasnt going t obe close. but it was fun. i now have aloot more respect for the 4 cylinders with turbo, but in a mustang, its not a mustang unless its got a v8 but i do agree that ford does need to pick it up. they need to lower the cost of the new GTs to about 25-26 and make a mid model in between the GT and the Cobra. similar to th emach 1 or bullit, but with less nostalgic meaning and more performace. instead of paying 1500 for a shaker scoop or bullit styling and make a 4.6 liter push out 350-400 hp. the gt is a nice car. but its no sport car. my car has leather seats and leather wrapped steering wheel. instead they should make a model with a carbon fiber dash, and reacaro racing seats somthing perfomance. but without selling the house to buy a 80,000 shelby cobra
