Well the army has like 8 MOS's that will get you a $20k enlistment bonus. Some of them that I can think off the top of my head are infantry, medical, light vehicle mechanic, and cook.

Cook?? Is the Army that hard up for food service? Not to bash the Army, but I signed up for the EGA, not for a bonus. I was offered 30k and E6 to enlist with the Army after my Marine Corp term was up. I said hell no.

I guess so... what's EGA? I didn't enlist for the bonus alone but $15,000 sure doesn't hurt either, huah?

hmm maybe just a turbo set up with low boost for the time being. Yes I am infantry, and my bonus was 15k, 12k was for a 4 year enlistment, and the other 3k was for airborne school. but your first payment on the bonus is a 10k lump sum. my buddy signed about 3 months after me and got 30k for the same thing!!??[:'(]

Damn that sucks. Oh well, can't cry over shoulda woulda couldas.

If you run a twin turbo setup with low boost, are you going to keep the stock block? Personally I would do it the other way around, but hey if you want boost now, more power to you. (literally)

The Army is rolling in dough. Congrats on the lump sum though, those are always good. I've been to Iraq, been back, gone back, came home, going again.... you get the idea. You said you were deploying, hit me up if you got any questions. MarineNCOIC@aim.com or MarineNCOIC on AIM. Anyway, you can have your thread back now. Go for the Cobra, much more potential for mods.

I have been in the army for 6 yrs now and got a 10K bonus when I came in, PUT THAT in the BANK... or invest it. I have been adding to it for the past 6 yrs, and now have 20k just chillin in the bank, Im about to get out in a month and that is money for living and a house or whatever I wana do.. If your getting deployed, depending on what rank you are youll proc come home with around 15-20k in the bank anyways, take about 4 k of that and put a S/C on the car and youll have your 400 hp. plus a phat *** bank account.

Have you already enlisted? If you haven't Dont go picking a job just because of the bonus because that bonus gets tax heavily. so a 20k bonus will probably be around 15k after taxes and somtimes you dont get it all at once, it will prob be a lil every year. You need to pick a job tht you wana do. Cooks work crazy hours, MP's work every holiday and 4 day weekend. Now if you want the best job in the army you tell that recruiter you wana be a 15T, which is a Blackhawk Crewcheif/mechanic.

+1 for any Aircraft Mech. Those guys have mad skills/attention to detail. I'm lucky though, HMMWVs aren't too picky about how you fix them... as long as the tires roll you can probably drive it.

yes I'm already enlisted. Just got assigned to 2id 3rd bde. its a stryker brigade at ft. lewis washington. I thought about selling the car and getting a terminator, I'm really undecided. That why I wanted to hear what everyone had to say just to give me ideas (even though I have enough as it is). My dream has always been a turboed mustang, since before they were popular like they are getting to be now, soo we'll seee. thanks ncoic
