Read this for info on O2 sensors. There is also a link to a schematic on how to make your own.

I emailed you earlier today. P0133 is for the front 02 sensor slow response. Most with longtubes will get this code if they didn't get a tune or chip to delay the computer reading the front 02 sensors. This has been discussed before in this forum and others I've been to. When you crank your stang up, your front 02 sensors have 2 minutes to get to temperature. They emit the voltage that is read by the computer during the computer's operating checks. If they do not get up to temperature within the first two minutes, the computer will not read the proper voltage from the the front 02 sensors. The amount of voltage that is emitted by the front 02 sensors is related to the temperature that passes over it.

The problem with longtubes is that they locate the front 02 sensors much further down the line in the exhaust. Where the front 02 sensors are right up there by the engine on stock stangs, the front 02s on longtubes are located very close to the rear 02s. By the time the exhaust gets down to the front 02s, the exhaust is already cooled down considerably. It's even worse with ceramic coated longtubes. Since they are so far back, the front 02s have a hard time heating up to the right temp to emit the proper voltage.

I used to crank up my car and sit there idling at 2000 rpms for two minutes to try to beat the computer and get the 02s up to temp. I soon found out that the computer reads the front 02s more often than at start up. That's why some people don't get the code at start up but later while driving (like when they come off the highway at the stop light). The longtubes cool off even more while driving so it's even harder to keep these 02s at operating temp. Then all of a sudden you get a check engine light and your computer goes into closed loop mode.

There is no economical way around it. You've gotta get it tuned or a chip that delays the computer.
