Well I don't know crap about my car but I like it. I'm fresh out of high school and I want to make my car fast especially faster that z28's and SS. I was told by someone who very well might be full of crap that you can get a computer chip for your car that cost like $300 or so that could add like 75 or 100 hp. And I know it voids your warranty but he said if u take it out and unplug the battery for a while they will never know. Is this true and if so can it easily be installed yourself? Is this hard on your engine or anything like that?

your freind is over flowing with **** no a chip won't give nowhere that much on a stock car and plus you don't need a chip anyways just wait until you get alot of mods or go inside of the engine and if i was you get gears and get 4.10's or 4.30's by far the best mod for the money

Chip = 15hp max

Your friend(s) are full of it. Spend the money on gears first, one of the best bangs for the buck. If you want to chip wait until all your mods are done, IE. exhaust work, intake, heads, cams, etc. When ever you are done you will need a good custom tune to make sure the car runs right an at peak performance.

on a stock application? or are you talking about the mail order chips? i picked up 31hp with mine... on a well modded setup that is(for the newbies)
