First time at the strip

First time at the strip
I am taking my car to the strip for the first time tomorrow and was wondering if there is anything that i should really know before i go. like do i burn out in the water with stock tires (eagles that i hate) or just go around and spin them a couple of times? How much air should i let out of the tires? Any suggestions will be helpful.

Dont go through the water box, drive around it. As for a burnout, you can do it, but it probably wont help you any, Goodyears are **** tires. Youll just have to use throttle control to keep from spinning too much.

Go around the water box, back your rear tires into it if you feel like you need it (you don't). Don't smoke your tires, spin them for 3-5 seconds at the most to clean them off. Heat will just make them greasy.
Add some air to your front tires, don't bother dropping the pressures much, if any in your rear tires & expect to run low 15's to high 14's your first few runs until you get some experience under your belt.

Do not take air out of the rear. Go around the box. The only thing that you can do in the box is have fun and do a burn out.
Watch the tree, drive the car just like you know that you can. It's fast, you are not racing the other car, you are racing time.
My 5 cents.

RE: First time at the strip
thanks for the advice all... i am so fn excited to go. I am going with a w/ a guy with a 05 legacy gt stage 2 (13.7 @ 103mph when he was stage one) and a str-4 that is just crazy and then there's me. Do i turn the traction control off? I am so nervous to go, i might have to do some donuts or something to get the jitters to go away. I still have to call the track but do you think they will make me wear a helmet considering i have a vert?
