I just got my sct tuner....i just reflashed it to 93 octane from brenspeed tuning....amazing guys...just want to say thanx to them! Now my only question is how far advance can i adjust the timing than they did????? is it a bad idea? Is there any way i can lose power if i change stuff to much???

How did your car feel when you first drove it with the new tune ?

If they know what they are doing you won't be able to get much more out of it.... then again every motor is diferent so there may be a couple of ponies hiding sowhere

If you hear any pinging back off the timing or go up on the octane.

A cooler plug MAY allow you to raise the timing a bit as long as your motor does not foul them up.

Brent is an awesome guy to do business with. How often does the owner take time to talk to you on the phone for 10 minutes? I got my tuner from him also and on my 93 tune I raised the timing 4* from idle to 2K and 2* from 2K to 4K. Mostly for gas mileage. When racing I am out of 2k in a second or two and then up to 4K doesn't take long either and I have heard no knock. I have an automatic and the shift from 3-4 was a bit hard so I sent the tuner back for Brent to soften it up and while it was there I had him delete the 91 octane tune and add a race fuel tune. I have 100 octane unleaded available. I added some lucas octane booster also as it raises the octane 3 FULL points. I spun so much I got a very poor 60' of 2.25 and ended up with a 101.8mph trap speed which is my best. This is on a passport timer as the tracks are closed here in central, NY so next season I will get a track time. Still this was with 2 guys in the car as a friend watches the timer for the end of the 1/4. I don't remember if I beat my best 0-60mph which is 5.45 but I believe I got a couple of hundreths off. Went and weighed the car afterwards and got 3920 with both of us in the car and the car alone weighed 3500lbs. automatic and convertible.
I would not raise the timing up any higher than the 4k mark and don't mess with the fuel. Brent knows his stuff and getting 3 custom tunes is awesome. Mt Predator came with a canned tune and those tuners don't add much timing at all, practically nothing! I added 6* on top of the 10% the Predator allows in 2 ranges and no knock. I used a steeda timing adjuster which I am selling if there is any interest PM me. The Predator adds the 10% to the STOCK timing which is 10* at 4k rpm's and 16* at 5k rpm's! Brent sets his 93 tune at 23* at 4K rpm's and 24* at his 5k tune, quite a difference huh?!!! That means the Predator adds 1* at 4k rpm's and 1.6* at 5K rpm's! WOW, hardly a change at all. Anyone contemplating a tuner should go with Brenspeed and get 3 custom tunes for YOUR MODS and even your altitude as your location is taken into consideration. Thanks, mark

Hey !! Any breakthroughs with the new tuner.

I'm just about to get mine from Brentspeed and have a couple of Q?

How specific is the information that they need/ask for the tunes ?

I am not 100% sure of my rear end ratio....

Also, my intake is something of a mixture of stock and aftermarket pieces.

I don't know how scientific they are when they create a tune and if my vague items will affect anything,,,,

thanks

Make sure you run 93 octane, I'm glad you felt a nice difference in power, I didn't.

i also did not notice a difference in power but what i did like was that my speedometer was correct for once. Ever since i changed to the 3.73 gears i never changed the speedometer and it will start to get on your nerves, let alone read more miles to your cars computer than you re actually driving. At the track i gained .1-.15. But could not feel a difference on the street
