The GS-T and GSX are both the same power and speed. The difference is in the all-wheel drive. If both are stock and both at the strip racing, the GSX will obviously have the edge with all 4 tires struggling for grip. But if both are at a good roll on the highway and both can get traction, both will have the same speed. Assuming there is no huge weight difference with the GSX having the all-wheel drive system.

The GSX is a 15sec car stock, and the GS-T is around a 15.2. Professional drivers and magazing racing, so don't take those claims as the spoken truth. I've seen stock ones pushing very low 15's though, none in the 14's bone stock. And, without upping the boost, I don't see them getting anywhere in the 13's with just basic boltons.

If you have a 99-04GT, you shouldn't have a problem taking one from a dig or a roll. If at a roll, I wouldn't sweat it...you'll catch up.

I'm not sure who was driving those 15 second fwd talons/eclipse's but they run faster than that. The FWD stick will do it in 14.5 (decent driver), and an all wheel drive should push a 14.0. The AWD are great for track use especially with a FEW small mods, and the drop of the clutch. Only problem with those cars is the tranny sucks.

A dude I know has a 95 GSX w/ light mods (turbo-back exhaust, tuner, short throw shifter) and runs a 14.7 and can drive good. That gives you an idea of what they run pretty close to stock but w/ a boost controller I'm sure he could be in low 14's high 13s

I was researching alot a couple of yeras ago when I was interested in a turbo eclipse/talon. It seems that the gsx is a bit faster of the line (AWD obviously) but the gst can catch the gsx in the quarter and destroy it on the highway. The AWD is much heavier and more power is lost by putting it through awd. Just what I came across...take it for what its worth.

But....stock for stock, you shouldn't have a problem.

no way in hell that a stock eclipse gsx will run a 14 flat....thats like saying a stock mustang gt could run a 13 flat...

The eclipses are suprisingly quick. The Gst's are the fastest of the turbo eclipses cuz its fwd. But the stang should be able to take it. It should be a fairly close race, IMO.

I had a 92 Laser 2.0 N/A, my brother had a 94 2.0 talon N/A, my oldest brother had a 90 talon AWD Turbo, and my mom had a 1.8L SOHC one.

None were anything close to fast enough to touch a stock mustang GT. Any 99-04 car, and probably a NPI car as well, will simply walk away from one.

190~ horsepower is not enough, and the car isn't that light if its AWD, and you definatly cannot do a redline launch in one and expect the stock trans to live.

Stock you will win. Give the GST a larger turbo and basic mods and it will become a 12 sec car. My '93 heavily mnodded with a poor tune(I tuned it!) ran high 11's at 122MPH. Mark
