Default 3.73's or 4.10's for a 5 spd GT

I have a 2000 GT and I can't decide between 3.73's or 4.10's. I have a 5 spd with mac off road H, flowmaster cat-back, and a SCT tunner. I am getting a throttle body, plenum, and JLT intake. What gears should I go with?

If you don't plan on an SC or turbo, seriously get 4.10's. Dont Fear The Gear. They improve acceleration greatly.

But I see that you are a noob, just know that this question is one of THE most frequently asked on these forums basically. Do a search, you'll find all the info you need.

Haha yeah just cause I'm new on this site (which is starting to become my favorite) I still know what I'm talking about with cars. I'm just seeing what most people recomend. I really appricate the help. Yeah the shop that I just got a job at handles a lot of Mustangs and 4.10s is the most common gear they install. Someone told me if you arent making it a track car dont do 4.10s. But I'd love to burn my friends automatic 2000 GT. He put 3.73s and has a couple more mods then me and right now hes taking me by less then a car. So I wanna shove it in his face that his auto is gay.

Thanks for the help guys.. I'm gonna do a search.

Good idea, I wasn't bashing on your car knowledge or anything , you probably know more than I do. Just saying, this is my first and only forum site I've ever used (also my favorite.), I didn't know what a search was until everyone told me to do that first.

If any kind of everyday highway, 3.73's
If wanting to shift and launch light to light, 4.10's

I do a lot of highway to go to college. Besides that its all street. I'd just love to burn everyone off the start even though my 4 speeding tickets (Delaware State Police know how to nail you going to the beach down here so if you are every trying to go to Ocean City Maryland or the Delaware beaches... only do 4 or 5 over!) and already having my license suspended once hasn't taught me anything. But I think I should go with 3.73s. I have a '94 Lightning also and they are stock with 4.10s and that thing is horrible on the highway... but I love it so I can't complain.
