PULLY!! UHH OHH!

RE: PULLY!! UHH OHH!
I basically just changes the direction the belt goes. If the belt didnt fall off i guess you could drive it, but it will probably fall off. I guess the tensioner pully has enough play in it to keep the belt on how it is. A new idler for you car would be about 20 at NAPA (I just changed mine about a month ago). Long story short, I wouldnt drive it till you fix it. If the belt slips off, it will get torn to pieces and then you get to buy another belt (50 at NAPA...changed that too).

I dunno. When I replaced mine, I just used the bolt that was in there. It looked like a regular bolt, but I really didn't look at it too closely. You should probably just go to ford and pick one up. Then it will be the right size and length.

What did they have to order? The bolt? They have to ORDER a fcukin BOLT? Thats rediculous. Go to NAPA and get one. You should be alright to drive it. The Idler on the 4.6 doesnt really do much. Check to make sure you still have tension in the belt before you drive it though. Look at the diagram, and you can see that it really doesnt do much on the 4.6, and the tensioner probably had enough play to take out the little bit of slack from losing the idler.
