Default H pipe install didn't go very good

I've heard that the passenger side of the pipe is pretty tough to get off. But I thought that the x pipe I installed a few years ago wouldn't be that hard to get off boy was I wrong. The other side came off easy, I used swivels and sprayed some blaster of them and still didn't turn. So I think I'm going to see if my mechanic will do it.

IF you have the money and dont want the hassel, I must have been lucky when I did mine, both side came off fairly easy.

WD40 is for women, PB blaster is the only thing that might have a chance and lots of heat.

I had the same sort of problem with mine, with only 34,000 miles on it. i couldn't get one of the stock nuts off of the drivers side the car where the h-pipe meets the flange on the base of the header. The bolt was already so rusted that there was no way to put a socket on it. You can have the nut heated with a torch which will cause it to expand and it will come right off. Since i already had the car jacked up, i went and bought a gator grip socket (a one size fits all socket) and attached it to a long straight breaker bar and it came right out. It actually backed the entire stud out of the header and i had to go to the dealership to get that part( it's not a bad idea to replace all four of the nuts on the header side of the h or x-pipe every time you change the midpipe). Hope this helps.

+1, when i did my midpipe install, i sprayed the PB blaster on the bolts and 2 of the 4 just basically hand turned off there

i had the same problem getting the stock midpipe out but if you stay with it long enough you'll get it. just spray the hell out of it with some blaster and get a swivel socket and you'll get it off. it's not worth paying somebody to do for you.

I'm in the process and still havent gottten the one passenger bolt off in 8 hours of work. I bought air tools and that didnt even do it. I think tomm I will try to heat it like you guys said but am kind of afraind to since there air gas lines in the general area.
