Default centrifugal vs. screw

00GT w/ BBK LTS, xpipe, Magnaflow catback, BBK TB, plenum, CAI, 3.73's, Predator, 17inch American Racing Rebels, and the wrong Pro 5.0 shifter. Vortechs sound good and everything but i like the idea of twin screw SC's better. if i went to 18's in the back would i be able to get any traction? i break em loose in first now and a little in second.
KENNE BELL 1.7 vs. VORTECH SQ 2 Any opinions?

A centrifugal will pull on a twinscrew on the top-end. For the 1/4 mile, a centrifugal is better since it won't hurt your traction too much in the launch, and when it spools up you just pull away. With a twinscrew, you have instant power because it doesn't need to spool up, and not to mention the awesome whining sound it makes. If you run in 1/4 mile a lot, get the centrifugal. If you mostly drive on the street, get the twinscrew.

Other than the fact that the base kit has no intercooler and comes set at 6 PSI, and the more expensive one costs another 1500 bucks...

If its a 1.7 non intercooled vs a non cooled SQ, no question get the centri. IMO it's still a tossup with the 2.2L.

The vortech costs less, makes the power where ya need it, and has awsome street manners under about 3000 RPM. I am getting 21.5 MPG on the highway with cams and ehxaust, 1 MPG better than before the blower.

Everyone yells "KB!" but when it comes down to buying it...
