My friend has a 00 GTP. From a 30 or so roll, he could keep up (1/2-1 car maybe) to about 80 MPH, at that point I walked away. From a stop, it was complete rapeage.
The new ones have more power, but are heavyer as well.
If you get beat, its not your car, its your driving, espcially off the line.

they arent as fast as most people make them to be, from the hole you will own it. I dunno what this guy had but I beat him at the strip and he was even on slicks.... me vs gtp its a lil later on in the vid burnout. I killed him from the hole even on street tires. in your case from a roll it would have a lot better chance because itd be starting off right in boost w/out having the fwd launch.

You need to drive a GTP. Trust me i raced lots of GTs in my GTP. My roommate had a 99 GT. We raced all the time. The GTPs sweet spot is down low. go to glupgp.com and ask they will tell you. as far as a roll (which i always feel is pointless) a GTP will get creamed if they dont have a PCM to change shift points/gear skips. If you race a GTP from 40ish with out a PCM you might as well be racing an old guy in a walker.

It was absolute rape between my bud and me off the line, he simply stood no chance. Even later on with 18s and much wider tires he simply had no chance.
