New Headlights

To put it simply my headlights suck. I want to upgrade to something brighter, whiter and with longer distance. It seems that what I am looking for are HID lights but I am not sure which ones to get. Also what is with the 4300, 6000, 8000, 10000, and 12000k thing?

the ratings are just the different color temperatures... i believe the 10k and 12k bulbs emit a slight purplish color while the 6k and 8k emit somewhat of a blue color.

ok what are some good HID lights? Are they pretty standard for Mustangs or are there different brands and such?

Well currently I have a set of HIDs (10000K) in the mail. I ordered them from stangmods.com and the headlight kit is $300 and the fog light kit is about $250. I know there are cheaper prices for these kits on ebay, but Im a firm believer in you get what you pay for...just my .02

i dont like HID myself but there are some bulbs for our stock headlights that can emit a whiteish/blue color... i got the the smoked headlights from mustangtuning.com and I love em. I also have a pair of 9007 luminics lightbulbs which look way way better than the stock ones that emit the dull yellowish color.. Mustangtuning.com has alot of headlights including HID kits you can check out. Once you found the right one, you can go search on ebay because the guys there will sell it for less..

You can go with Silverstars for a pretty bright HD effect. These are a move up compared to stock.

Personally, when I see cars driving around with some of those aftermarket bluish coloured headlights it looks kind of cheesy and ricey.

True HID is very expensive as you require a ballast to run the bulbs.
