No way, you could darn near get a Cobra at that price. That's practically the price of a brand spanking new 06 GT. It doesn't matter if it's supercharged or not, the price shouldn't be higher.

I would pass this up in a heartbeat if they don't come down on the price. If your looking at spending that much, get an 03 Cobra.

edit: I could be confused...is SC a Saleen model? Or do you mean a norml GT that is SuperCharged?

As Ive looked around Ive seen that this is about the going price for 04' GTs. I didnt realize this was so expensive. 03' Cobras are $30K or more, the cheapest I have found is $28K. I could get an 03' Mach 1 for around $20K or even an 01' Cobra for around $20K, but any mach 1 or pre-03' Cobra isnt supercharged. I have found one 99' Cobra for $14K with around 20K miles on it, and that sold within a couple days.

Im kind of in limbo trying to decide what I am going to get, I want an 03-04' Cobra but like I said I cant find them for a decent price. I havent much looked into a straight GT because Ive been looking at special stangs, which is why I wanted to know about the 03-04 GTs.

So will I regret getting a regular GT?

Hard to find Cobra's in my area for the price some people on here boast. Perhaps if you look for a private sale you might be able to pick one up from someone not quite aware of the market value the 03/04's seem to have.

Regardless, 25k for a blown 04 GT with an engine that is probably being pushed to it's reliability limits, along with the transmission is just begging for months worth of regret. You don't know if that car is tuned for sure (assuming it's from a dealership). You have absolutely no idea how the car was driven before you got your hands on it... To be safe, you'll need to get the car on a dyno ASAP (before you even take it into boost). One run in boost with an untuned engine could be catastrophic. Unless they can provide receipts...even if they do, you'll never have piece of mind (in my opinion) until you see first hand that the car has been tuned. IMO, it just screams HORRIBLE IDEA.

It's value is going to drop fast regardless if you keep miles off it. Whereas if you take your time for an 03/04 Mach 1 or Cobra you'll have yourself a car that'll hold value much better even with miles... While the Mach 1 has the same limitations as the GT...it'll respond to NA bolt-ons much better than the GT.

I couldn't find a Cobra for what I was willing to pay, so I gave up quickly and went looking for TA WS6's, couldn't find any priced right so then I went looking for GTO's, got a great deal on one and I happened to find my Cobra. Clean as they get, smaller used car dealership that had granny cars & SUV's, pretty much weren't aware of what they were selling for on the market and I believe I got a good deal in the end.
