I have gone to atlanta dragway in commerce, ga and you only have to wear a helmet if u run under a certian time. Not real sure on the time but I think it is below 11 sec or so.

cecil county dragway took them about 12 runs in the 13s for them to tell me to where a helmet. Maybe the tinted windows aided me. Ill tell u what though, that helmet sure does weigh your head down. Makes my big head feel even bigger, touching the roof lol

come on guys,, if you dont have facts, dont post

99.9 % of tracks will require a HELMET at ANYTHING better than a 14.0

some will let it slide, some wont, but according to their rules, you have to have a helmet if you touch 13's at all

Just go get some helmet, as long as the tech isnt stringent, or your car isnt running REAL quick, most any kind of helmet will do
I been to englishtown and u need a helmet no matter what time u run. Its Jersey, u need a helmet at every track here.

E town runs NHRA track regulations so i think its anything faster then 15.99 requires a helmet. You can find the rules on the NHRA site.

It's simple. Go to the tracks websites and READ their rules or contact them and find out the rules. PERIOD.

My facts are straight. At the Alabama Dragway you dont need a helmet unless you are in an actual event and running quick times. On a test and tune night such as friday night, plenty of people go 10s and 11s without a helmet and they do not get in trouble. Some do get sent out b/c you have to have a cage if you run in the 10s. However, 11s are pretty much free from regulation.

I think that's plain ignorance. EVERY track in the WORLD should have strict rules when racing. #1 SAFETY of the Driver #2 SAFETY of the Car #3 SAFETY of the Crowd and Personnel.

Just my 2 cents. What happens when someone slips on the shift, gets sideways or something more serious and they flip smashing their head on the roof or side of the window(pavement). Just a thought,

BUY A HELMET unless you want to be a new veggie tale in the Lord's newest series.
