ORIGINAL: GodAmGT00

ORIGINAL: droptoppony

could just be one of the hose's broke at the rear...ie; heater return line...

+1..

Not to hijack, but I drove my car for the first time in 2 weeks, and noticed a few weeks ago, that the dreaded Intake Leak is upon me... It doesn't look too bad however.....
Not sure how old your Mustang is, but the 01 GT that I picked up on Friday (88K miles) is at the local ford dealer getting its intake manifold replaced under warranty for a crack near a temperature sensor. If you are no more than 7 years from date of original purchase, and you have a 1998-2001 GT, you may be able to get it replaced under warranty.

http://www.mustangheaven.com/forums/...ead.php?t=1211 has the info.

You probably know this already, but I didn't want to take that for granted. I searched around the net looking for a new intake manifold for mine, and I came across a post on another board that had a reference to this as being a warranty issue for some people, and had found no mention of it here (but that could have just been my search string).

They've had a thread going about it on here a little while ago, I thought it was a sticky, but I haven't seen it, or maybe haven't noticed it lately..

I have to get my other car working right first, but I also thought, I'm swapping engines from now until next summer (somewhere in between) so I may just drive it until it's fuct... 154,000+ miles, I'd say the engine got good use.. Still on original timing chain...

Ford only extend the vheicles warrenty on the manifold to seven years from the cars build date so if you have a 96 add 7 to that means your extended warrenty expired in 2003 if you replaced it with in those seven years at Ford you could get your money back but after that its your problem well F!! FORD cause when mine leaked i took it in Jan of 06 and they told me i didnt qualify and if i had taken it in December of 05 they would have replaced it for me for FREE so sorry but i feel your pain!

I have heard some good stories over the past couple months about Ford dealerships still honoring the replacement, so I'd try it anyways if i were you.

Make sure you get the aluminum crossover for your year! There's one on Ebay right now for $125. The pi intake can cause you trouble as well because you have to cut the gaskets and put in RTV sealant. That could cause you to possibly lose your motor!! I wouldn't do it if I were you!
