Default New Cams?

Ok, so i have decided that I am going to spend about 5-6k on my engine with out s/c it, and here are my plans. New cams, port and polish the heads, bigger fuel injectors, new fuel pump, p-51 intake, accufab t/b and plenum combo, bbk lt heads and h-pipe, cai, steed tri-ax shifter, and probably some other things. My question is what cams should I go with and where should I buy them at, I have been looking around online and the only place I have found them at is yearone.com and I have no idea what type of cam would be good for my setup.

well, the P51 is going to be like any stage 2 or above cam you might choose, you are not going to get the big benefits as you have to rev the engine over where the stock internals should go (i.e. 7K+). That being said, i wish i would have bought stage 2 rather than 1 for the lope alone. But it just wasnt worth teh extra dough that i didnt have anyway. Consider your cam choice IF you decide to go FI in the future. Many blower cams (VT) work very well n/a.

aight first off, go with stage 2 cams. since your not going with a blower youll need as much power as possible. i would advise the svo lower intake manifold and you will need new heads to go along with the cams. my new heads and cams will be here next week so ill let you know how that install goes. and yea u might wanna look at a new bottom end. definitely forgin some internals would be a great increase. and if u dont mind me askin why dont you want a blower.

I might put a blower on later, but if I do I am going to rebuild the bottom end. I just dont trust it with my stock internals, so that might be something that will happen down the road

well the only problem with decidin against a blower is that the 2v will not make enough power n/a....it takes FI to really see some gains, but make sure you have a goal before you jump out and start buyin stuff, otherwise youll have a catastophe and i know that im not loaded so i have to get the right part......between college and bills im downright poor, u wont be disapointed goin FI though and you wont need a forged bottom end until you start uppin the boost....like i said make a goal and stick with it....

Personally I would say to just hold off until you can afford to S/C and build the bottom end. For 6K you're already getting close to being able to do that really. I only say this because I know that the engine's wouldnt make enough power for the money invested going all motor. Unless you're wanting to throw on a nice big shot of nitrous.
