"floppy" clutch pedal

"floppy" clutch pedal
So I'll toss this one out too......
On the mach the clutch pedal is, for lack of a better word, floppy, for about 1/4-3/4 of an inch of travel from its rest position. You can tap it with your toes and it will jiggle before I am assuming the cable tension actually grabs. I thought nothing of it but after driving the GT for awhile, which does not do this, its now starting to bug me. I tried the adjustment in the Ford manual, pull pedal back towards driver, push all the way in waiting for a click, then release, but that did nothing, never even got the click. I would imagine it is all stock but then I was noticing that total pedal travel distance is much less on my GT. Don't know if that indicates any sort of modification or if it is just another diff between the Mach and GT.
There does not appear to be any sort of issue with engage/disengage while driving. Just a jiggle that is toying with my OCD.
Any thoughts?
BTW, Mach has 20K miles if that is relevant, and previous owner did not include any clutch modifications, but then he didn't own it long and he bought it used from dealership, so we know they only know whats labeled.

RE: "floppy" clutch pedal
my GT does this from time to time
not sure what it is but i usually take it out of gear and push in clutch and remove foot quickly and that fixes it till next time...
most likely throw out bearing in mine......who REALLY knows though on 46,000 miles on mine

hmmmm...i'll try that.
Noticed that this morning, which is significantly colder (our morning temps have dropped about 20-30 deg from last week), it wasn't quite so loose....

RE: "floppy" clutch pedal
ok, just letting it snap back didn't do it.gonna get in it upside down as I think someone prev must have done some sort of adjustment. My shifting is tough as unless I have the pedal ALL the way to the floor I can feel a little resistance going into gear.....

new cluch?
new cluch?
at 20K I surely hope not (unless you were asking if it is one, and I'm sure its not, for the same reason). Also, there is no slip. When she's in gear, she is IN GEAR. No time to fiddle with it today though, will have to look deeper tomorrow....
