the car runs great, smooth idle...would the LASH ADJUSTER cause the problem?

it might need new valves wha price and how many miles. If it need new heads then its going to cost a fortune. My car makes a weird vibration when the engine is coming down from like 2,000 down to 1,000 but then once its at 500= idle then its fine. Its just my motor mounts though, we changed the clutch about 2,000 miles ago and had to wiggle the shi t out of the engine to get the tranny back on.

Marbles in the valve cover sounds like pinging/detonation to me. It could also be the valves. Try putting in some more premium gas and test drive it again. If that doesnt fix it, dont buy it.

It could also be spun bearings. I highly doubt it is detonation. Most of the time you dont hear detonation "silent knock of death". I wouldn't buy it.
