under a v6, you have a single exhaust feed coming from the manifolds or a double. i don't know and am curious. if its a single than you won't need an x pipeprob. won't net you much of a gain and you could use that cash on parts that would..

if you were to convert it to dual you would need to get a y pipe adaptor and hangers from ford, a good kit will give you more horses,

I would go with one of those conversion kits that will run out dual side exhaust. They cost a little more but look alot better with the V6 body. Plus its a little more unique. The pipes coming off the back without the cutout rear fender like the GT's have just doesn't look right to me.

I dont see where dual exhaust is going to help you. Has someone done a backpressure test on your car and told you to go with dual exhaust? Have you had a backpressure test done on your car?

How is a backpressure test performed? I've never heard of such a thing

Mustang V6's put down enough ponies to benefit from dual exhaust..especially if you stay with manifolds.

Theres a kit you can purchase do do it. It also works on your MAF to determine if its restrictive as well. Its simply a vucuum gauge with hose attached. Youll have to tap the exhuast or MAF to connect it to the hose however. All you do is connect the vacuum gauge to either the exhaust at whatever point in the system where you want to determine backpressure. Run the car at Wide Open Throttle(to the rev limit only!!!) and check the vacuum gauge reading> If it reads more than 4Hg. then the exhaust could use some improving. But that still doesnt justify dual exhaust.
It breaks down like this:
2Hg.=1psi
1psi loss in atmosphiric boost=10hp
try this on your MAF. It isnt to practical one exhaust as you can probably tell. especially the tapping part! Look for 4Hg. or more vacuum.
